Can!do Cares

Why We Care:

Our commitment to giving back is rooted in the belief that businesses have a responsibility to nurture the communities that support them. We understand that a thriving society benefits us all, and we’re dedicated to playing our part.

‘Do your little bit of good where you are; it’s those bits of good put together that overwhelm the world.’ Desmond Tutu.

How We Care:

At Can!do, our approach to supporting charities and community initiatives is as holistic as it is heartfelt. We actively seek out partnerships with organisations that align with our values and goals.

Financial Contributions:

Through financial contributions, volunteer efforts, and fundraising, we work hand in hand with the organisations below to amplify their impact.

Through Our Success Stories:

Every success story, every smile, and every positive change in the communities we serve is a testament to the enduring power of caring.

Get Employees Involved:

It’s not just about the financial aspect. We encourage our employees to get involved, fostering a culture of empathy and social responsibility. Together, we’ve witnessed the incredible transformations that can occur when a community comes together to uplift its members.

Lyra (formerly ICAS Southern Africa): helping us care for our employees and associates.

The Employee Wellness Programme is a special initiative we created for our employees and associates. This programme was designed to help those who work for us achieve personal well-being at work or home. It is a way to help our employees and associates find the work-life balance that we all aim for.
Through this programme, our employees and associates can access various services like speaking with a qualified counsellor over the phone 24/7 or opting for face-to-face or virtual counselling. In addition, there’s guidance available over the phone for legal, financial, and family matters. If they have health-related questions or need medical support, there’s an Online Health and Wellness Portal and a Lyra HUB App with lots of helpful information.

Join Us in Making a Difference:

As we continue our journey, we invite you to be a part of this inspiring mission. Whether you’re a fellow business, a dedicated volunteer, or someone who simply wants to make a positive impact, there’s a place for you. When we all come together with compassion and a shared purpose, we can achieve remarkable things. How can you make a difference in your communities?

Some of the Charities We Care About and Support:

Rays Of Hope:

Rays of Hope stands apart as an organisation as they hold the status of a Non-Profit Company (NPC) and have earned recognition as a Public Benefit Organisation (PBO). Located within Alexandra Township, commonly known as Alex, in the northern part of Johannesburg, they are dedicated to the well-being of children and their families, offering support to enhance various aspects of their lives.

Acting as trusted partners on a transformative journey, they guide individuals from times of vulnerability toward achieving self-sufficiency. This approach not only leaves a profound and lasting impact on the broader Alex community but also contributes to meaningful, positive change.

Ladies of Hope:

Ladies of Hope, a Non-Profit organisation based in Ennerdale, South of Johannesburg, was founded in the early 2000s by Myrtle Williams. Initially, a small group of women prayed for the sick and elderly in their community. Over time, their numbers and impact have grown significantly, with volunteers actively contributing to the community’s betterment.

Ladies of Hope

Their primary goal is self-sustainability, which will enable them to make an even greater difference. They aspire to be a beacon of hope, aiming for a lasting impact in their local community and beyond. Their mission is to reach more disadvantaged individuals in various communities, working to create a better future for children and families.

Hearts of Hope:

Hearts of Hope is a sanctuary where orphaned and vulnerable children are embraced by a world of possibilities. It’s where they experience a compassionate, protective, and nurturing childhood, allowing them to blossom.

Housemothers provide dedicated care for these babies and children, ensuring they grow up in a secure and nurturing environment. They achieve this through providing nutrition and well-being, education to young and older children, and by providing access to medical and therapy interventions where needed. It’s not just a place; it’s a haven of love and support where these children can find hope and a brighter future.
